Acupuncture

Acupuncture has long history of use in China and is based on balancing the flow of qi (energy) in body meridians with acupuncture needles, cupping and moxa. It has a broad range of applications and may be used as a stand-alone treatment or safely combined with other complementary therapies or pharmaceutical medications. Acupuncture may be used to manage a diverse range of health conditions including: pain management, women’s health issues, musculo-skeletal disorders, sleep, digestion, skin disorders, stress and mood disorders. The Acupuncture styles practiced include:

    Japanese Acupuncture providing clients with a very gentle yet effective approach to treatments

    Scalp Acupuncture used in management of chronic central nervous system disorders and; Traditional Chinese style.

     

  • Treatment specialisations are chronic disease, stress management and post cancer care including neuropathy.

    A treatment includes taking a case history followed by a physical assessment by tongue diagnosis, pulse diagnosis and abdominal palpation. Treatments are usually conducted with client lying on the massage table. Acupuncture needles are very fine (and completely unlike a syringe!), sterile and single use. Whole consultation process takes 50-55 minutes for an adult.
