Melissa Connell

 

Melissa graduated from the University of South Australia with a Bachelor of Physiotherapist in 2000 and then went on to gain her Post Graduate qualifications in Women’s Health and Continence Physiotherapy in 2011. She has twenty years experience of working in private and the public hospital setting, enabling her to develop extensive skills in both Musculoskeletal and Women’s Health and Continence Physiotherapy.

 

Melissa has extensive experience in treating a wide variety of musculoskeletal issues, utilising hands on techniques, dry needling, education and incorporating specific exercises to assist with recovery. After completing levels 1-4 of Clinical Pilates training through Dance Medicine Australia and working in various Pilates studios within Australia, she believes that improving people’s movement patterns in conjunction with manual therapy is vital in long term rehabilitation.

 

Melissa also works closely with a number of GP’s, Obstetricians and Gynaecologists treating women during the antenatal and postnatal period, and also assist in treating women with incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, pre and post gynaecological surgery, pelvic pain and a range of other women’s health issues.
